the center recognizes that individuals with disabilities need to work through the emotional aspects brought about by acquiring or having a disability and our belief is that the most appropriate person to assist with this process is another person who has a disability.  This sharing of life experiences empowers the individual to live as independently as they choose.  The Center uses two methods to accomplish these tasks either one-to-one peer mentoring and/or peer support groups.
